Engaging in Career-Long Learning
TQS #2: A teacher engages in career-long professional learning and ongoing critical reflection to improve teaching and learning.

This artifact comes from attending a professional development session centered about bring mindfulness to the classroom. This image is one to the techniques that speaker Cara Thorogood demonstrated during the session. The technique allows students (and adults for that matter) visualize their emotions by drawing them out. Attending this PD session gave me the opportunity to learn ways to guide my students towards a more mindful means of emotional expression and regulation. Attending PD sessions such as this demonstrates my commitment to being a life-long-learner in my professional career.

This artifact is from when I learned how to use Google Forms in unconventional ways. I always thought Forms was used only for surveys and quizzes, but by taking the EDTS 325 course at MHC I was able to use it for a much different purpose. I designed a choose-your-own-adventure game using only google forms. Other students in the class designed elaborate escape rooms that are great for digital learning. My story was not related to any specific curriculum criteria, but because Google Forms is such an easy-to-use interface, I would easily be able to intergrade learning for the classroom
