Fostering Effective Relationships
TQS #1: A teacher builds positive and productive relationships with students, parents/guardians, peers and others in the school and local community to support student learning

These are personalized letters that I received from the grade 3 students in my practicum class in 2021-2022. I received these after only 1 semester of attendance as their student teacher. Almost every one of them remembered that my favorite color was yellow, and most of them wished me luck in my schooling at the college. Many of them included some variation of " I Love You"!

One of the letters even said I was "the best teacher at the school"! While I'm quite certain that's not true, at least not yet, it did show me how fond the student were of me. Forming these strong bonds with students (that I only saw once a week), demonstrates my ability to foster positive and effective relationships with my students and those around me.

This is a scarf handmade by one of the students!

I found myself very busy during each cosmetology class, being almost fought over by the students as to who got to braid my hair that day. Students would find me in the hallway to have dibs on my hair during class (For context my hair is more than a meter long)

This is me!

Many students created me small pieces of artwork or interesting gifts to show their appreciation for me, even having one student design a puzzle using my name!
