This lesson plan demonstrates my ability to plan and design a learning activity that addresses the learning outcome outlined in the Alberta programs of study. This lesson also shows my dedication to creating engaging and relevant activities for students. The components of this lesson plan demonstrate my focus on professional knowledge.

Literacy
This lesson plan demonstrates my ability to plan detailed instructions for lessons. This lesson contains three separate poems of varying difficulties for the students to create. This gives students a choice and increases students to take responsibility of their own learning. If students wanted to try a challenging poem, I encouraged them to try their best. If students chose a simpler theme of type of poem, students were given the ability to do so without judgment.

Numeracy

This lesson plan contains an example of the types of formative assessment the students received from me. Students would hand this practice sheet in and I would correct and give written feedback over lunch. If all students handed the practice in that day, I would hand it back as soon as possible. Doing this solidified the quick and meaningful feedback aspect of my teaching philosophy into practice.
